FSC

As an environment-conscious printer, St-Luc wants to actively participate in responsible forest management. Since the paper consumption of any printer cannot be underestimated, St-Luc thinks it is important to know that this paper meets the ecological, social and economical requirements of responsible forest management.

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international organisation, established in 1993, which promotes responsible forest management. FSC sets global standards for forestry, coupled to a hallmark.
The FSC hallmark is the label that provides the most certainty that part of the base materials originate from responsibly managed forests.

If a printer desires to incorporate or to process FSC products under the FSC hallmark, he must be FSC-certified and this stipulation applies equally to all companies preceding it in the chain. Companies desiring to distribute FSC products must accordingly hold an FSC Chain of Custody (COC) certificate, which can be obtained via an audit by one of the certified audit offices.
FSC has drawn up guidelines for the certification of the FSC Chain of Custody. All FSC products passing through the company must be fully traceable, recognisable and, where necessary, clearly distinguishable from non-certified products.

St-Luc printer’s has meanwhile successfully passed the certification audit and therefore acquired its own official COC number (CGS-COC-007382).
